COMMISSIONER COMMENDS STAFF FOR ACHIEVEMENTS, CHARGES THEM TO WORK HARDER

The Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, has commended the staff of the Ministry for the various achievements recorded by the government in the housing sector, just as he charged them to be more dedicated and diligent in discharging their duties in order to speedily achieve the goals of the Greater Lagos vision.

Speaking at the End of the Year/New Year get-together organised for members of staff by the Ministry at Adeyemi-Bero Secretariat, Alausa, Akinderu-Fatai noted that the event was borne out of the need to acknowledge the contribution of the workforce on the achievements of the State Government in the sector, saying “All that was attained was as a result of a team effort”.

He said, “Despite the turbulence and hazards of the year 2022, God in His infinite mercy granted us the grace to witness a new year. He expressed gratitude to all staff for being supportive throughout last year in ensuring that the vision of the State becomes a reality in the Housing sector through the completion of various Housing Estate projects embarked upon by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s administration”.

The Commissioner, however, emphasised the need for the Housing Team to rejig their efforts and be more steadfast than before, adding that the current challenges in the housing sector require deeper thinking and hard work.

He also urged all Public Servants in Lagos State to see it as a duty to go out en mass to exercise their civic right to vote in the coming General Elections so that the present administration can continue its good work and the people can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy in Lagos State.

Earlier in his opening remark, the Permanent Secretary of Housing, Kamar Olowoshago appreciated the staff for giving him their unflinching support in ensuring that his task is made easy in order to achieve set goals and objectives.

He pointed out that the improvement of workers’ welfare is one of the strategic moves by the State Government led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, adding that the State government is intentional about improving the lots of its workers and will leave no stone unturned in promoting their wellbeing.

Reiterating the need for Civil Servants to reciprocate the kind gesture of Mr. Governor by redoubling their efforts in the discharge of their responsibilities, Olowoshago advised all staff in the Ministry of Housing in particular to continue to be more proactive in the attainment of the goals of the T.H.E.M.E.S agenda of the State Government, noting that the year 2023 will no doubt be a progressive year for workers across the State.
